South County comprises nine cities and towns, many of which hug Rhode Island’s southern coast. The region features both affluence and “invisible” pockets of poverty that have led to health disparities.

South County Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds develops healthy community initiatives on its own and partners with other community organizations to support two goals:

  1. Reducing Childhood Obesity
  2. Providing Mental Health Support for Young People

Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds is primarily funded by the Rhode Island Department of Health for its role as one of 10 Health Equity Zones (HEZ) in the state.

The Youth Mental Health First Aid Training is funded via SAMHSA. South County Health underwrites administration and staffing.

Gratitude comes in many forms

Take a moment to express your own appreciation by sharing your story, with a simple thank you, by nominating a caregiver, or with a gift of support.
