Here are some considerations as you plan for your hospital stay.
Items to Bring On Your Due Date
- Robe, sleepwear
- Nursing bra/nursing pads
- Extra underwear
- Roomy, comfortable outfit to wear home
- Sanitary pads
- Toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, moisturizer, lip balm, makeup
- Hair clips, elastics, brush, comb
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Change of clothes
- Books, magazines
- Toothbrush, toothpaste, toiletries
- Money for food
- A watch with a second hand for timing contractions
- Care seat (properly installed in the car)
- Newborn hat
- Receiving blankets (2)
- Going home outfit, including sweater or bunting if it is cold outside
- Insurance card
- Important phone numbers
- Cell phone and charger, headphones
- Massage oil
- Books and magazines
- Camera
- Hard candies
- Snacks for partner
- Birth announcements/pen
- Baby book
- Cord blood retrieval kit (if you decide)
