South County Health is committed to providing exceptional patient care through the dedication and growth of our healthcare professionals. One such professional is Alyssa Marciniak, BSN, RN. Alyssa began in our Emergency Department and has advanced to become the Interim Director of Emergency Services. Her journey exemplifies the supportive and collaborative environment at South County Health, where personal and professional aspirations are nurtured and achieved.

Community, Commitment, and Patient Safety

“I started working at South County Health per diem in the Emergency Department in 2015 and at Express Care in 2018, while working full-time in the ED at another local hospital. In 2021, I took a full-time staff position at SCH Express Care. In 2023, I decided to return to the inpatient side of healthcare and took the Assistant Clinical Manager role in the Emergency Department. This May, I stepped into the role of Interim Director, Emergency Services. Having worked at other hospital systems in Rhode Island, it is the sense of community and commitment to patient safety that draws me to South County Hospital.”

Mentorship That Makes a Difference

“Paige Damle, Manager at Express Care, has mentored and supported me from day one in my role in leadership. Watching Paige successfully move from staff RN to a leadership role showed me it could be done. Whenever I have questions, I know Paige is only a call away.”

Dynamic Days, Strong Supports

“Tory Groves, ADNO, is engaged with all the department leaders on a daily basis. I feel supported when any concerns are brought forth, and she will always help assist in finding solutions for barriers. Our monthly Nursing Leadership Meetings are also a great way to share information department to department.”

Goals and Growth

“Before moving into these leadership roles, I was a nurse for 10 years. I was hesitant to make the change into management and leadership. It has been rewarding to share my nursing knowledge with other staff members and to continue my learning process in this new role. I plan to resume and complete my MSN. Tuition and Certification Assistance Programs have been instrumental for me already, and will help me prepare for future roles at South County Health.”

Life Outside of Work

“I live in South County with my two young girls, Ellie and Rowan. When not at work, we are outside taking walks, visiting local playgrounds, and jumping waves at East Matunuck Beach.”
